In 2022 the International Transformation Foundation (ITF) installed a tap station at Kencom Centre bus station. The tap aims to serve passersby and passengers that regularly use that particular route. In collaboration with the Nairobi County Government and the Nairobi Water Sewerage and Company, ITF was able to secure the necessary permits and collaborate with the local government entities to construct a tap water station. The tap station was successfully installed in July 2022, however, due to a number of emerging issues related to the water connection, the tap was launched and officially put into use on December 14th, 2022. The tap stands to benefit at least 800-1200 people in a day who are likely to utilize the public drinking water stations on a daily basis.
